Bursary schemes
Each year DCDC brings together over 400 international colleagues from across the archive, library, museum, heritage and academic sectors. We are proud that the conference appeals to delegates from all career stages, from established academics and practitioners, to those just starting out.
We want to ensure we include the widest range of voices, experiences and backgrounds in our discussions, and we continue to offer a variety of bursaries to support attending DCDC events.
We will be launching the DCDC25 Bursary Scheme towards the end of 2024, sharing information on our website, on X and LinkedIn (#DCDC25).
Bursaries include:
- Registration bursaries
- Expenses bursaries
- Additional support
Registration bursaries
These cover the costs of in-person or online registration for DCDC. The in-person registration bursary consists of full conference registration (including online access), pre-conference drinks, the conference dinner, and accommodation. Online registration consists of access to all online parts of DCDC.
Expenses bursaries
We recognise that delegates may incur additional costs when attending DCDC25, whether in-person or online. Expenses bursaries will be available to anyone who might need additional support to attend, for example those with caring responsibilities, freelancers, those that need support with travel costs, or additional support for online attendance.
Additional support
Funds for additional support will be available in the lead up to and during the week of the DCDC25 conference. Details regarding the Additional Support funds and how to access these will be available in due course.
Applicants will be able to apply for multiple bursary options. A committee at The National Archives will select applicants based on the following criteria:
- Reasons for wanting to attend DCDC25
- Inclusion
- Individual benefit
- Individual need
There are no restrictions on the location or employment status of applicants. We do ask that you explore funding options from your employer or institution first, but encourage anyone who is unable to secure support to apply for a registration bursary.
Application information
- We endeavour to share the number of bursaries available as soon as possible. We will be sharing updates on X, via email and on LinkedIn
- There are no geographical restrictions regarding who can apply.
- Bursaries are open to delegates at any career stage, whether they are attached to an institution or not. If you are attached to an institution/funder, we do ask that you explore funding with them first.
- Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in early June. If an applicant is unsuccessful but is notified of this decision after 9 June, then they will be offered the early bird rate for the conference.
